Took my adventures to Quebéc this week and wanted to do a quick outfit of the day post after realizing my entire outfit was a combination of two of my most recent thrift store finds.
I am a cheap ass, and I am not afraid to admit it. Don't get me wrong, I splurge on clothes (when I really shouldn't be) but the inner brown aunty in me is ALWAYS looking for an excuse to save money wherever I can. I bought this dress this past February at a Value Village in London Ontario. I fell in love with the print and thought it'd be perfect for my trip to Colombia the following week. I've always been a little hesitant to wear this shade of yellow, but for $6 I could not pass it up. Prints like this, are always so fun in the summer time! When travelling, I now stick to packing a bunch of dresses that can be worn on their own. Dresses save space in my luggage, and I can easily throw it on and get going. My favourite printed pieces always end up being the ones I've thrifted. You may second guess a piece you pick up at the thrift store and have the urge to put it back but if it's cheap and you are not sure whether you want it and need more time to think about it, I say buy it anyway. If you don't like it, I'm sure someone you know will want it. I thrifted this dress during the coldest time of the year knowing I wouldn't really get to wear it until the summer.
My bag (Steve Madden) was also a thrift store find from a small boutique shop in London Ontario, called Mesh Boutique. This bag only cost me $11, and has been my go to ever since. I highly highly recommend this place if you are ever in the area! They update their Instagram will all their current pieces so be sure to keep an eye out, things sell out fast. Rex (the owner) also does a great job of updating the shelves regularly which makes shopping there all the more exciting.
On a side note: If any of you are into yoga malas and want one for an affordable price, you NEEEEEED to check Mesh. I've come across some for less than $30 bucks and I know friends who have spent over $100 on Etsy for practically the same ones.
I hope to stop at Black Market Vintage Clothing for my next thrifting adventure. If anyone knows some good thrifting locations in the GTA please let a sista know! If you are ever in need of a thrifting buddy, I'd love to accompany you. Please take me. Please?
