I'm not sure if this is an end of February thing, or a lack of sunshine thing but every year around the same time, I catch myself losing heaps of motivation all at once. Whether it's incomplete discussion posts for class or lack of posts for this blog, I always find a way to convince myself that "I'll get around to it". I have all these ideas floating around, but can never seem to execute them. I've blamed winter and my undiagnosed Seasonal Affective Disorder for far too long. I have started to make it a priority to bring some of my visions to reality.
Last week I reached out to an old friend who also happens to be a super talented art director, designer, and photographer. I haven't seen her in years but absolutely admire her work! We're having lunch together next week to talk about all things related to blogging, and I'm looking forward to sharing some of my ideas with her! Talking to someone who is equally (if not more) passionate about connecting with others is such an amazing feeling. I'm done blaming winter for my lack of motivation and have decided to make a conscientious effort to reach out to others who fuel me. I know it's going to take time to get to where I want to be, but knowing that there are others who share similar interests make all of this confusion so motivating. I can't wait to share more information after my lunch date and see what magic we're able to create together. Here's to reaching out and connecting with those who help fuel us! What do you do when you're feeling unmotivated?
