The concept behind Her Majesty’s Pleasure is pure genius - a cocktail bar and spa all in one! I always thought that the bar was the reason everyone talked about how unique HMP was. But, it wasn't just the bar. It was the space. The environment. Every corner was meticulously designed to give off that “instagram worthy” look. OMG, did I just really use that 'term'... Jeez. To be completely honest, it did feel a little intimidating to walk. The “bougieness” was real. Oh, god... Here I go again.
Although it was a little intimidating at first, everyone was so sweet and incredibly welcoming. We were greeted right away, checked in, and whisked away for our manis!
There were a few different sections within Her Majesty’s Pleasure, all decorated a little differently. This pastel coloured section was where we sat. When I first read reviews on HMP, some people had shared their concerns about how rushed their appointments felt. I didn’t feel the least bit rushed. Yuko and Ashley were total gems, and went above and behind to make us feel comfortable.
The cost of the services were a little on the pricier end, so it wouldn’t be something I could personally afford to do on the regular. But, if you’re looking to splurge a little on yourself, or need a gift idea for a friend, I’d highly recommend this place. It’d also be the perfect spot for a girl's night out or some pre wedding r&r for you and your wedding party! You can find all the services they offer, along with their prices here. Their website is very user friendly and makes booking appointments very convenient.
I was a little disappointed that they didn't have a drink menu. It's hard to describe to the bartender what exactly you feel like having when you're not quite sure what they offer. As I sat there staring at other people, I couldn't help but wonder what they were drinking. It would have been nice to have a menu to help decipher their drink (lol). I really do hope this is something they'll implement soon. I think a lot more people would feel more comfortable ordering if they had a chance to look at a menu. But hey, that's just my take on it.
Their bar also serves GreenHouse Juice. If you're in the area and need a quick pick me up, you can definitely stop by and treat yourself to an organic cold-pressed juice.
Let me know in the comments below if there are any must try locations in downtown Toronto! I'd love to add it to my summer to-do list. It doesn't have to be spa related. Brunch spots, picnic locations, anything really. I'd love to hear from you!
Always remember this: you don't need to go to a fancy spa to get some rest and relaxation into your schedules. There are many cost friendly options all around you. Go on a walk, take a bath, read a book outdoors, have a picnic, or drink some fruit infused water. Do anything that makes you feel good. The options are endless.
